About Me

My name is Jen Navarra-Morehouse. I’m a New York State professionally certified teacher with over 7 years of experience working as a public school teacher. I’ve worked with students of all grade levels and learning abilities. I hold a Master’s degree in Adolescent English Education from the University of Rochester, and I began my career with a theatre education certification, which continues to shape my creative, engaging approach to teaching.

I believe every student learns differently, and after years in the classroom, I transitioned from teaching to tutoring because it allows for true individualized learning. Tutoring gives me the flexibility to slow down, adapt in real time, and focus on each student’s specific needs, learning style, and goals. This one-on-one approach helps students build confidence, strengthen skills, and feel more supported in their learning. Each tutoring session is thoughtfully tailored to the individual student, focusing not only on academic skills, but also on confidence, communication, and self-expression.

I offer flexible scheduling with both in person and remote sessions to support busy families and strive to create a warm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and growing.
